Bluesky expands Attie so ordinary users can create websites and mini-games
Decision Brief
At TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, Bluesky announced that its AI-powered experimental platform Attie has expanded from building custom social feeds to creating websites, quizzes, games, polls, and other interactive experiences. Users link their ATProto identity; Attie recommends what to build based on their public Bluesky profile, and they can bring their own AI model or use open-weight models. Creations run directly on the AT Protocol that powers Bluesky, reaching the network's 47 million registered users. Bluesky CEO Toni Schneider calls this "social vibe coding," stressing that existing vibe coding is a solo experience while Attie supports building for groups. COO Rose Wang notes Attie's key differentiator is Bluesky's built-in distribution, not a standalone tool. Bluesky also plans private data support for the protocol by year-end, currently in alpha, the most-requested feature from developers. For long-time third-party Bluesky client developers, Attie means user-generated mini-games and sites become a new content form in the ecosystem that they need to consider rendering in their clients; for individual creators using AI site builders, Attie offers a path that skips solving traffic distribution themselves.
