agenticSeek: A fully local Manus alternative with no per-token API fees
Decision Brief
The project is positioned as a 100% local replacement for Manus AI, supporting voice interaction and autonomously browsing the web, searching, reading and extracting information, filling forms, and writing, debugging, and running programs in Python, C, Go, Java, and more on the user's device. It features smart agent selection, automatically deciding which agent handles a task and breaking complex tasks into multiple steps completed collaboratively by several agents. Voice functionality is still in development. Deployment requires Git, Python 3.10.x, and Docker Engine with Docker Compose to run bundled services like SearxNG and Redis. Local operation needs a GPU capable of running at least Magistral, Qwen, or Deepseek 14B, with reasoning models recommended. It mainly targets developers with local hardware: connect local models via Ollama, LM Studio, or an OpenAI-compatible interface, with API keys entirely optional. The author states this is a hobby project with no roadmap or funding, that reaching GitHub Trending exceeded expectations, and welcomes open-source contributors.
