Google Labs Releases Stitch Design Skills Library for Multiple Coding Agents
Decision Brief
The library follows the Agent Skills open standard and is organized into three plugin groups: stitch-design offers code-to-design, screen generation, design system management, and DESIGN.md extraction; stitch-build converts Stitch screens into React components, React Native, React+Vite dashboards, shadcn/ui integrations, and Remotion walkthrough videos; stitch-utilities covers DESIGN.md generation, prompt enhancement, multi-page site generation, and quality design specs. Codex can install via the plugin marketplace, Claude Code and Cursor use npx plugins add per project or workspace, and OpenCode requires manually copying skill directories and configuring a remote Stitch MCP entry. Prerequisites include a configured and running Stitch MCP server. Skills often depend on each other, so selective installs must include dependencies. For frontend developers on Claude Code and Cursor, workflows like code-to-design, design system sync, and screen-to-React components can run directly inside the agent; OpenCode users must rename skills to lowercase hyphenated form and swap tool names from web_fetch and run_command to webfetch and bash to load them. The project states it is not an officially supported Google product.
