Amazon launches new Blink security camera lineup, adding 4K and pan-tilt models for the first time

Amazon released five Blink cameras at once: the $79.99 Mini 4K Plus is Blink's first 4K model, with Wi-Fi 6, two-way audio and smart alerts that detect people and vehicles; the $49.99 Mini Pan-Tilt 2K Plus is the cheapest in the lineup, offering 350-degree pan, 115-degree tilt, night vision and person/vehicle detection. There are also the $109.99 Spotlight Cam 2K Plus and $149.99 Outdoor 2K XR Plus—the former Blink's first battery-powered spotlight camera, the latter covering about 800 feet with obstructions and up to 2,700 feet line-of-sight. The flagship $199.99 Frontier XR Plus is a trail camera for large properties, reaching up to 7,000 feet line-of-sight, Blink's longest range. For integrators of these features, video descriptions, motion-triggered notifications and 60-day cloud video storage are optional subscription items starting at $3.99 per month; without a subscription, local recording is possible via the Blink Sync Module. All five are up for preorder in the US now, with availability elsewhere varying by model; Blink did not specify shipping dates. For households wanting to cover a large yard with few devices, the 4K and long-range models offer new options; for existing Blink users and installers managing home network and storage setups, it means reweighing the cost of cloud subscriptions versus local recording.
