mcp-use v2 released: full-stack MCP framework with native Views and Agent workflows
Decision Brief
mcp-use v2 is built on the official TypeScript SDK v2 and adds native Views support, letting you bind React components directly to tools as interactive interfaces without writing extra extension adapter code. It ships an Inspector debugging tool and a screenshot verification CLI, and supports generating a public URL via mcp-use dev --tunnel so you can test local MCP servers with ChatGPT and Claude before deployment. The CLI also offers a headless mode for tool calls and View screenshots in the terminal. Official comparison data shows mcp-use v2 at roughly 10,982 ops/s, above the official SDK's 8,050 ops/s and FastMCP TS's 6,628 ops/s; install size is about 74.4 MiB across 51 packages, below fastmcp's 122.5 MiB and 180 packages. For TypeScript developers publishing MCP apps on ChatGPT or Claude, this means smaller dependencies and faster runtime; for teams with existing v1 projects, official migration guides can be handed to an Agent to automate the upgrade.
