Amazon-owned Bee launches two personal AI devices, starting at $75
Decision Brief
Bee Frontier is a new-generation device worn on the wrist or clipped to clothing, priced at $74.99 in Onyx, Lavender, and Sage, with IP67 water resistance, up to seven days of battery life, USB-C charging, and dual-mic noise reduction; Bee Eclipse is credit-card sized, magnetically attaches to the back of a phone, priced at $99.99 in Silver, Midnight, Honey, and Blush. Both devices have a single toggle button, an indicator light that turns on while summarizing conversations, and ship with a redesigned mobile app and a new desktop app. On privacy, Bee uses a private computing security architecture: raw audio is not stored, processed in real time and then deleted, and transcripts are encrypted with keys generated and controlled by the device itself, inaccessible even to Amazon employees unless the user shares them. Regular users get conversation summaries, recaps, and 14 days of memory for free; a $11.99/month Bee Pro subscription adds unlimited summaries, integrations with Amazon.com, Alexa+, and third-party apps, to-do suggestions, daily memory, a personal chat assistant, and conversation templates. The devices also work with Gmail, Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, and other office software to draft emails, schedule meetings, and extract action items, and support uploading photos or connecting to Apple HealthKit. For individual users taking class notes or recording doctor care plans with Bee, and for developers evaluating the cost of wearable transcription hardware, the key updates are the lower entry price, Alexa and Amazon shopping integrations, and an architecture that does not retain raw audio.
