Chengdu Sets Up 1 Billion Yuan New Energy M&A Fund, Bichen Energy Southwest HQ Settles in Pengzhou
Decision Brief
Recently, Chengdu Transportation Investment Group, Chengdu Mengjiang Investment Group, Hangzhou Bichen Energy, and Luoneng (Hangzhou) Equity Investment signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly establish a 1 billion yuan new energy M&A fund. The fund will drive Bichen Energy's Southwest HQ and key entities—including smart O&M and asset operations—to settle in Pengzhou, Chengdu. The fund will focus on photovoltaic, energy storage, integrated optical storage and charging, and urban-rural microgrid projects. It will build a smart energy control platform, regularly engage in electricity spot trading, green power trading, and ancillary services, forming a closed loop of 'project development—smart operations—asset capitalization and appreciation.' Bichen Energy recently completed its first institutional REITs expansion for distributed clean energy assets, signaling increased market acceptance of new energy asset securitization. By opening local scenarios (industrial rooftops, microgrids) and establishing a cluster of industry funds, Chengdu aims to attract new energy asset management companies to deepen their presence in the region.
