Frontend Slides: A skill pack that lets coding agents generate HTML presentations
Decision Brief
The project is distributed as a Claude Code plugin; its core SKILL.md can also be read by coding agents with filesystem and shell access such as Codex, Kimi Code, OpenCode, and Gemini CLI. Install it by running /plugin marketplace add in Claude Code to register the public repo, then /plugin install frontend-slides@frontend-slides, and invoke it with /frontend-slides:frontend-slides; you can also manually copy SKILL.md, STYLE_PRESETS.md, viewport-base.css, html-template.md, animation-patterns.md and scripts/ into ~/.claude/skills/frontend-slides/. The output is a single HTML file with inline CSS/JS, requiring no npm, build tools, or frameworks, fixed at 16:9 and focused on accessibility. A style-discovery phase asks about the content first, then generates 3 visual previews to choose from; PPT conversion extracts existing text, images, and speaker notes before regenerating web slides. It ships with 12 presets plus 34 optional "bold" templates from beautiful-html-templates, loaded progressively: read a slim index first, load only the preview.md of shortlisted templates, and load the full design.md only after the user makes a final choice. For product, ops, and marketing people who don't want to write CSS/JavaScript, and for teams mass-producing drafts with local coding agents, this flow removes scaffolding and dependency maintenance; but style choices remain constrained by the built-in presets and template library, and custom "wildcard" options require the agent to extend preview styles itself, with final quality depending on the chosen agent's frontend capability.
