CLIProxyAPI: Wraps Antigravity, Codex, Claude Code and Other CLIs as API-Compatible Services
Decision Brief
CLIProxyAPI is a proxy server that offers OpenAI-, Gemini-, Claude-, Codex-, and Grok-compatible API endpoints for CLI tools. It supports OAuth login for OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, and Grok Build, along with function calling, tool calling, and multimodal text/image input; streaming, non-streaming, and WebSocket responses are available on supported channels. It also provides multi-account round-robin load balancing across Gemini, OpenAI, Claude, and Grok, plus an embeddable Go SDK. Since v6.10.0, CLIProxyAPI and CPAMC no longer include built-in usage statistics; users needing them can switch to CPA Usage Keeper or CPA-Manager-Plus. For teams that switch between multiple model providers, this interface unifies different CLIs into an OpenAI-compatible protocol, so no separate adapter layer is needed per vendor when connecting upstream clients. Multi-account round-robin load balancing also spreads requests across accounts to reduce the impact of single-account rate limits. Teams willing to self-host can embed the proxy into their own systems via the Go SDK and adjust routing by editing model aliases. Note that some model names and capabilities listed in the project docs (such as Kimi K3, GPT-6, Claude Fable 5.1) come from the original description, and actual availability depends on each channel and account permissions.
